Traveling in Thailand
Traveling to Thailand is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. What an amazing country… affordable, beautiful, spacious: it has everything you want in a country and more. If you’re planning a trip to Thailand, I’m sure you’re very excited to learn all about it. The culture, the places to see and the things to do. And believe me, there is more than enough to experience in this huge country. In Bangkok alone, there are more temples than you can count.
Basic information about Thailand
Thailand is a country in Southeast Asia, famous as a backpacker’s destination. Many travellers start their adventures here, since the capital, Bangkok, has one of the biggest airports in the area. The language in Thailand is Thai, but many people also speak a little bit of English. Otherwise, Google Translate is your best friend. Thailand borders Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. More than enough options to explore more countries in Southeast Asia! In the south of Thailand, you’ll find the Gulf of Thailand with some islands for you to enjoy. Oh, and the west side also borders a little bit of the Malacca Strait.
Popular destinations inThailand
Popular destinations in Thailand include:
Bangkok. This is the capital of the city and it is absolute HUGE. My tip: don’t stay on Khao San Road, but opt for accommodation in China Town instead.
Chiang Mai. A city in the north with lots of temples and many national parks closeby. It’s a popular destination for many digital nomads, since it’s a lot more quiet than busy Bangkok.
Khao Sok National Park. This is an incredible national park with amazing views and wildlife. You can book a little wooden house on the water and stay for a night or two.
Krabi. This is a town on the coast of Thailand. Krabi itself is cute enough, but it’s also a good place to travel to islands. And trust me, the islands are a-ma-zing.
Koh Tao. One of the many islands of Thailand. This one is close to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, both also popular destinations.
